Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt

Oh, hi. Hello. Didn't see you there. More than likely you didn't expect to see me here, either. In Blogger world, that is. Well, if you are overjoyed by my arrival to what has become one of the most popular ways of self- deprecation by posting one's personal diary on the world wide web for all in cyber-space to be privy to, thank Ashley Wright.

Mondays always seem to get a bad rap. Especially from me. I don't even give the poor day a chance to wow me with what exciting possibilities it may hold. No, instead of looking for ways to enjoy the first work week day, I squander its precious time by planning activities for the remainder of the week and the weekend to come. Not today. I'll be going to my Alma Mater come 7pm. This excites me. I usually frown upon nostalgia, mostly for my own sake, because I'll somehow remember times past as an era where everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. Lies. Ashley and I often remember all the good times: playing in the rain and throwing hand fulls of mud at the Cluster 2 windows (and cleaning it up), chasing Matt and Daniel on their bikes throwing eggs at them-ahem, I mean missing them and the eggs landing on Ashley's windshield, making the "Video Killed the Radio Star" music video at the State house, nights at the Snack Shack, prank phone calls as Linda Rodriguez, The Cluster 2 Christmas Party Extravaganza, 1442 Denny cheers, the list goes on and on. Yet, how could I forget to remember times when my heart was ripped out from me sitting across from the person I thought was "the love of my life" at the bottom of Hoke Auditorium listening to him tell me "there are just so many girls out there..." or the time when another guy pursued me and another girl simultaneously and it turned out I was just the back-up in case girl number one turned him down... ??? Pain. Boat loads of pain, day after day, more of the same. Yes. I am ready to return and fondly remember it all. All the pain, all the laughter...maybe in remembering the experience as a whole, I won't feel so jaded by it all. This Monday is sure to be one for the books.

I had a spectacular weekend. Highlights included:

~ Seeing a live concert

~ A delicious Saturday lunch of sweet potato fries, avocado dip and salad
~Mani/Pedi night with my roommates
